The story of the piece
Look closely and the surface seems to still be moving. Veins of colour pour and fold the way molten stone or oil on water behaves — never repeating, never quite resolving — and yet the whole holds a strange, settled balance, as if the turbulence had been allowed to find its own order. It is at once completely abstract and utterly natural, a pattern the eye reads as luxury before the mind can name why.
